Deadlines are for schmucks

Looks like I’m not going to make my self-imposed “first week of September” deadline for uploading all of the changes/updates to the site. Converting the pages is taking a long time, due to Real Life constraints like work and sleep and the fact that I keep finding new content to add while I should be finishing up the conversions. Right now, I’m being sidetracked by reading up on the life of Lorrae Desmond and updating her biography page. Wow, what a life and career she’s had. Hardly know where to begin. The biography pages are taking longer than I thought they would as well because I keep finding additional obscure information (that probably no one but me will care about but what the hey!). Not to mention the photos I have to work on and the brand new content pieces like the tour and the articles. I need a clone.

Anyway, my aim for the first week of September is to just have the converted pages uploaded. Then I can work on the content with a clear conscience.

If a Mac crashes can you hear it scream?

This little blog is where I’m going to record the somewhat boring and tedious thoughts that go through my head as I’m updating (or trying to update) this site. It might includes some completely non-ACP related comments (depends on how my day’s going) but will mostly have to do with A Country Practice and/or my work on this site.

My Mac keeps crashing today…oh, wait…Macs don’t crash, do they. At least, that’s what the Apple switch commercials tell you. LOL No, Macs don’t crash, Macs just stop working and sit there like

A brand new day

Well, a brand new blog, anyway.

Have been slaving away trying to convert all of the pages to the new look — gets longer and longer because I go off at a tangent with every page I open (hmm, let’s redo the “What’s New” page; oh, yes, must add section for Blog and ACP news at the same time and, wait a minute, I should add some other things while I am in there….). Anyway, it’s getting there. Have also been working on the Virtual Tour, with all of its tangents (finding/creating map; getting details of the places; creating the tour pages; my wonderful little foray into the world of QuickTime VR; etc., etc.). Really wish I was living, or at least visiting, somewhere near Sydney — it’s tough getting the info I want from here (and I hate bugging those people who’ve already gone out of their way to help). *sigh*
