Network Solutions (i.e. Verisign) are giving me such a headache lately. They consider a domain that hasn’t been renewed a month and a half or so prior to its expiration as being delinquent (!!!) and they lock it down — so you can’t transfer to a cheaper registrar at the time you’d be thinking about renewing. Kind of like holding you hostage. They also have some of the worst customer service (or service, period!) of any company I know. Not in the least bit helpful. So, now I have to renew my domain through them for another year and then fork out another year’s renewal fee to transfer the domain to the new registrar. It’s incredibly annoying, to say the least.
